ARCHITECTURE BY:

Renowned for progressive design and a collaborative approach, Cheshire's iconic projects have reshaped Auckland.

Over two decades they have united urban, architecture, interior and furniture design into a single endeavour. Cheshire use this to craft every aspect of their extraordinary homes, caring as much for the armchair in the sun as for the elegance of the building in its gardens.

An architecture that is simple, which will age beautifully

The ground floor is defined by a glittering horizon framed by gardens. The middle level nestles into the canopy, framing the bay with Pōhutukawa. The top floor surveys almost two hundred and seventy degrees of harbour and coastline. Moments of compression and expansion are sequenced to mark the shift from place to place.

Daily rituals are carefully attended to and elevated.

The horizon echoes through the building, and monolithic, organic materials like brick provide an elegance that improves with time. Carefully proportioned openings frame wide views of the Waitematā and Rangitoto. Light, texture, and shadow interplay with the Pōhutukawa trees and the building’s elemental forms.
